Alternating Robert the Bruce, Saltire (Saint Andrew's Cross or the crux decussata) and White Thistle shields as separated by long swords. The stem is very simplistic, featuring the vine of a singular thistle, yet the base is decorated with the same intricate patterns that feature on the cup.
